"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God" (Deut. vi. 5). There is a teaching : R. Eliezer says : If it is stated "With all thy soul," why is it stated "With all thy might"? And if it is stated "With all thy might," why is it stated "With all thy soul"? But should there be a man whose body is dearer to him than his money, therefore it is stated "With all thy soul"; and should there be a man whose money is dearer to him than his body, therefore it is stated "With all thy might." R. 'Akiba says: "With all thy soul" [means,] even if He take thy soul.
